I am a PhD candidate in Political Science at the Centre for European Studies and Comparative Politics (CEE) at Sciences Po Paris, supervised by Emiliano Grossman.
My research focuses on political parties and climate politics. My dissertation examines political polarization over climate change in Western Europe: why party competition on climate has shifted over the past decade, what role radical right parties have played in this shift, and how their growing opposition is reshaping other parties’ rhetoric on climate. I am also interested in how elite rhetoric and behavior on climate issues influence public attitudes toward climate policies and voting behavior. More broadly, I work on party competition, including how parties use social media to communicate with citizens and mobilize electoral support.
Together with Luis Sattelmayer, I develop PartySOME, a dataset and website on political parties’ social media activity and the political issues they communicate about. The dataset combines a large, harmonized corpus of official party posts from 38 countries with a classification of those posts into standardized policy issues; the website lets researchers and the broader public explore what parties talk about on social media.
My work has been published in the American Political Science Review, West European Politics, Party Politics, Global Environmental Politics, and the Revue française de science politique.
I use computational social science methods to collect online data and to build new measures of political science concepts from large text corpora, alongside survey-based quantitative methods. I have contributed to several projects harmonizing existing survey data and creating new datasets, and I teach these methods at Sciences Po.
